Why we are building 3inch.ai

3inch.ai編集部 · · Updated

What can AI do? When is it useful, and where does it fall short?

We are building 3inch.ai to help readers find their own answers, with evidence they can check.

Choose and use AI with the evidence in view

A list of prices and features can only tell you so much. We want our comparisons to help readers judge whether a service fits their needs, without rushing to a recommendation. That means explaining:

Our practical guides should set out prerequisites, steps and common pitfalls. We want to develop articles that readers can try out in their own environments.

Turn Labs experiments into work readers can check

We intend Labs to be a space for exploring what AI can create and what it feels like to use, through experiments and demos.

When we run tests, we plan to record the models and versions, test conditions, steps to reproduce the work, and limitations. We will distinguish samples from live AI inference. We will not claim firsthand experience of tests we have not performed.

The current text inspector is an AI-free sample. It is not evidence of AI performance.

Be clear about plans and completed work

This article sets out why we are starting 3inch.ai and how we intend to work. It does not report completed product research or recommend products. We currently have no registered products or affiliate partnerships.

If we establish partnerships, we will disclose advertising relationships. We will also distinguish official information, our own testing and inference. We intend to correct errors and keep a record of important changes.

Start with Japanese and English

We are starting with Japanese and English, focusing on information we can check carefully. Adding languages will depend on advertiser coverage and our ability to keep that information checked and useful.

We hope to help readers approach AI with a little more clarity. That is where 3inch.ai begins.
